ACC Women’s Asia Cup: Nepal suffer humiliating loss to India

KATHMANDU: Nepal suffered another humiliating loss in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup as India registered a 99-run win at the Asian Institute of Technology grounds in Bangkok on Friday. It is Nepal’s fifth consecutive defeat in the tournament. Nepal won the toss and elected to field first. India posted 120/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Later, they bowled out Nepal for just 21 runs. Shikha Pandey (not out) scored highest 39 runs for India with five 4s off 32 balls. Similarly, Vellaswamy Vanitha scored 21 runs off 14 balls and Anuja Patil scored 16 runs off 18 balls. Likewise, Harmanpreet Kaur (not out) contribuited 14 runs off 16 balls and Nuzhat Parween scored 13 runs off 25 balls. Meanwhile, Nepali batters failed to score in double digits. Earlier on Thursday, Nepal had lost to hosts Thailand by eight wickets.
