Man swindles 18 foreign employment aspirants of Rs 3.34 million

KATHMANDU: Police on Saturday arrested a man who allegedly swindled 18 foreign employment aspiring youth of Rs 3.342 million promising them of lucrative jobs. Buddha Kumar Lama (37), a permanent resident of Kattike Deurali-1 of Kavre, currently residing in Lazimpat of Kathmandu, was arrested from Lazimpat by a team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division yesterday. The suspect would also show them fake visas to assure the employment, according to police. The MCD had swung into the action against him after some of the victims lodged complaints with police. Meanwhile, Lama has been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment for further investigation.
