Bhojpur, December 4 CPN-UML Secretary Bhim Acharya today argued that the statute amendment bill tabled at the Parliament by the ruling parties was meaningless. Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Bhojpur in the district today, Acharya said the constitution amendment bill was tabled in the Parliament unexpectedly with ill-intention, instead of implementing the statute and proceeding with holding the polls. He termed the bill irrelevant at this time. Acharya was of the view that the government required to announce the polls date by withdrawing the amendment bill. “This government has postponed proclaiming the polls date. It has not drafted any law for holding polls, Acharya said. CPN-UML will always support the government in implementing the constitution and holding polls, as a constructive main opposition party,” argued Acharya. He also said discussion on the impeachment motion filed against suspended CIAA Chief Lok Man Singh Karki would take place only after the government revoked the constitution amendment bill.
