KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress directed its five district committees and a constituency committee to hold polls and elect new leaderships by December 30. Issuing a press statement today, the NC Central Election Committee directed its committees in Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Parsa and Dolpa districts and Dhanusha Constituency 5 to hold elections by then. A meeting of the NC Central Election Committee made a decision to this effect, according to its secretary Pradeep Parajuli. Though the largest party in the current Parliament had held its 13th national general convention in March, the mentioned district and constituency was unable hold the polls due to different reasons including disagreements on voters' lists. Meanwhile, local level elections which had been stalled during the convention would also be held in coordination with sister organisations, according to Parajuli.
