CHITWAN: The Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project has decided to block traffic from the road for four hours a day citing ongoing expansion works. The vehicles would be blocked from 11 am to 3 pm everyday from December 22, according to the Project Engineer Shiva Khanal. He said it was not yet decided till when the obstruction would continue. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhatta said the Project had asked to impose the obstruction for eight hours a day, but the District Administration Office halved the period considering the woes the travellers were likely to face. Issuing a notice today, the Project has called transporters and motorists to use alternative routes. If there is no any possibility to use any alternative route, the drivers have to wait for their turn via the main road, according to the notice. Meanwhile, the Project Chief Chandra Narayan Yadav said so far only 32 per cent works of the Project had been completed. It was expected that around 47 per cent of the work would be over by now, according to him. He attributed the delay to obstruction in supplies after the Constitution amendment last year and subsequent fuel shortage. The 32-kilometre road connects the Kathmandu Valley and Pokhara with the East-West Highway. A 19.5-kilometre stretch was being widened currently, according to the Project.
