Rautahat fire destroys property worth Rs 2.5 million

RAUTAHAT: Property worth around Rs 2.5 million was destroyed when five shops in Garuda Municipality of Rautahat district caught fire on Wednesday. The fire suddenly sparked from an electronic equipment shop belonging to Ram Govinda Prashad Kalbar. It had further spread to neighbouring shops operated by Ram Aagya Sah and Devananda Yadav as well as a hairdressing salon belonging to Bijendra Thakur and Biraj Thakur. All the shops were destroyed. An electronic short circuit caused the fire, informed Inspector Keshav Regmi of the Area Police Office, Garuda.
