2 held with contraband drug from Nepal-India border

KANCHANPUR: Police here in Kanchanpur district on Friday arrested two persons for reportedly possessing an illegal pharmaceutical drug in Gaddachauki, near the Indian border.
The arrestees have been identified as Ram Singh Dhami (23) of Bhimdatta Municipality-10 and Madan Giri of Beldandi Municipality-6 in the district.
The duo were arrested after the security personnel found 150 tablets of Nitrovet during the security check at the Nepal-Indo border, informed Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Force (APF) Netra KC.
The preliminary investigation showed that Dhami had made Giri drink alcohol before persuading him to carry the illegal pharmaceutical drug across the border into Nepali land, DSP KC said, adding that Dhami was involved in the illegal business for a long time.
Both the arrestees would be handed over to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur for further investigation, said police.
