Govt finally receives local bodies restructuring report

  KATHMANDU: The Local Bodies Restructuring Commission on Friday submitted its report to the government after a delay of months. The LBRC Chief Balananda Paudel-led team held a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and submitted the report to Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Hitraj Pandey in Dahal's presence at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers today. On the occasion, PM Dahal said it would be a significant document towards implementing the Constitution. 'The report is very sensitive and of a long-term importance,' he said, 'The government believes that it would be of a great help in the Constitution implementation process.' Likewise, the Prime Minister directed Pandey and Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi to begin implementation of the LBRC report. Deputy Prime Minister duo Bimalendra Nidhi and Krishna Bahadur Mahara among other Cabinet members were also present on the occasion. READ ALSO:
