Chalise remembered
BHAKTAPUR: A poetry symposium was held to mark the 143rd birth anniversary of late poet Chkrapani Chalise, in Katunje, Bhaktapur on Sunday. Noted litterateurs recited poems, on the occasion. Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi, vice-chairman of the Royal Nepalese Academy feted Dr Ombir Singh Basnyat. Dr Chudamani Bandhu, the chairman and Rammani Dhungel, the secretary of the Chakrapani Smarak Prathisthan highlighted late Chalise’s contribution to Nepali Literature. Late Chalise is the writer of the national anthem of Nepal. — HNS
Russian team’s visit
KATHMANDU: A Russian Buddhist delegation headed by the Russian Religious Ambassador Eldinev Ayush is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Monday on a week-long visit . The delegation is coming at the invitation of Nepal-Russia Cultural Association and Shakya Foundation, Nepal. The Russian delegation will consist of monks, journalists and law professionals. —RSS
