Jhapa woman killed in wild elephant attack

KATHMANDU: A woman was killed in a wild elephant attack in Bhadrapur of Jhapa district on Sunday. Police identified the deceased as 45-year-old Palmaya Limbu from Karela Chok in Bhadrapur Municipality-2. Limbu along with a 13-year-old Sharmila Limbu had gone to the nearby Mayalu, around a kilometre west of the settlement to collect firewood. Locals had found her dead in the forest after she did not return home till late night yesterday. Meanwhile, Sharmila has gone missing since the incident. Police are searching for the girl.
