RNGC win Caddie Match Play

Kathmandu, January 23 Royal Nepal Golf Club won the title of the Caddie Match Play here at the RNGC today. Out of the 11 matches, the home team won seven, while Gokarna claimed two and one match was halved. RNGC accumulated 7.5 points and Gokarna earned 3.5 points. Dinesh Nagarkoti and Ritesh Sigdel of RNGC became the best winning pair after they registered an 8/7 win over Deepak Rana and Suresh Shrestha. Other winners for RNGC included Santosh Rokka/Rajendra Maharjan, Bikash Gurung/ Binode Tamang, Suresh Lama/Krishna Singh, Krishna Nepal/Subash Ghising, Kishan Kaliraj/Bidur Lama and Sushma Koirala/Rabina Shrestha. Likewise, Bharat Magar/Raj Kumar Dhakal, Balaram Paudel ‘A’/Balaram Paudel ‘B’ and Miriya Giri won their matches for Gokarna. The match between Bipin Tamang/Gopal Shrestha of RNGC and Bisho Dev Paudel/Suman Shrestha was halved. The winning team received Rs 20,000 and trophy, while the winners got medals and gift hampers. In all, 42 players from RNGC and Gokarna participated in the tournament, which was organised for the first time by RNGC Caddie Committee. Nepal Golf Association President Madhukar Yakthumba, General Secretary of PGA Nepal Deepak Acharya, Lady Captain of RNGC Pawitra Yakthumba and RNGC Head Pro Deepak Thapa Magar gave away prizes to the winners.
