Lalitpur, January 24 Defending champions Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal APF Club, Nepal Police Club and Western Region advanced to the semi-finals of the second CoAS National Men’s Volleyball Tournament here at the Nepal Army Sports Complex today. TAC finished as Group A winners after winning all three matches, while APF came second. NPC were Group B winners ahead of Western. TAC and NPC remained unbeaten in their respective groups as both collected nine points from three wins, while APF and Western won two matches. In the semi-finals, TAC will face Western, while NPC will meet APF. In the day’s group matches, TAC saw off Eastern Region 25-19, 25-15, 25-19, while NPC recorded a 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-11 victory over Western. Similarly, Central Region beat Far-western 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 and APF outplayed Mid-western 25-19, 25-11, 25-7. Top three teams will receive Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000 respectively. The player of the tournament will get a Pulsar 150CC motorcycle, while the best coach, blocker, lifter, spiker and defender will earn Rs 15,000 each.
