KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leader and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Saturday said the nation would get trapped into an imbroglio if local, provincial and federal polls could not be held on time. Speaking at a function organised on the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the Press Chautari Nepal, an organisation of journalists loyal to the party, the UML leader said the political parties which brought changes in the nation should be united to shoulder the historic responsibility of holding the three elections by January next year as required by the Constitution. He asked the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to dare hold the elections on time without making any excuse. UML Secretary and Chief of the party's Publicity Department Yogesh Bhattarai, Press Council Nepal Chairman Borna Bahadur Karki, Federation of Nepali Journalists President Mahendra Bista, Nepal Press Union President Badri Sigdel and Press Centre Nepal Chairman Maheshwor Dahal among others had also spoken on the occasion. Meanwhile, Nepal feted various persons at the function.
