BHAKTAPUR: Suraksha Cricket Club claimed the title of the Khukuri Challenger T20 Cup cricket tournament here at Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya grounds on Monday. In the day’s final, Suraksha defeated Tip Top-XI by 16 runs. Batting first, Suraksha were bowled out for 146 runs in 19.4 overs before restricting Tip Top to 130-8. Aarif Sheikh’s 31-ball 45 was crucial for Suraksha to put a fighting total on the board. Skipper Prem Tamang hit 26 off 30 balls. In reply, Tip Top fell 17 runs short despite Prakash Bista top scored with 45 off 50 balls and Prashana Shakya hit 23-ball 37. Champions Suraksha received Rs 200,000, while runners-up Tip Top got Rs 100,000. Tip Top’s Prakash Bista was named the best player of the tournament and got Rs 25,000, while Suraksha’s Prem Tamang and Royal PC Fighter’s Sandeep Jora were named the best bowler and batsman respectively and earned Rs 10,000 each.
