Lalitpur, February 8 Nepal’s journey in the Nepal ITF Junior U-18 Circuit-I Tennis Championship ended as remaining three players crashed out of the tournament here at the Satdobato Tennis Complex today. In the boys’ singles, Renjan Lama, who won the first round match on Monday, went down to Atharva Sharma of India 6-3, 6-4 in second round. Likewise, Mayanka Rana suffered a 6-3, 7-6 defeat against Sharannya Gaware of India in the girls’ singles second round match. Samrakshak Bhushan Bajracharya, who teamed up with Mathew Yee of Hong Kong, faced a 6-2, 6-4 defeat against Indian pair of Jaishvin Sidana and Adarsh Naga Tippabhatla in the boys’ doubles quarter-final match. In other matches, Mritunjay Badola beat fellow Indian Adarsh Naga Tippabhatla 6-4, 6-3, Dipin Wadhwa saw off Ryo Iizumi of Japan 6-3, 7-5, Kabir Manrai beat Yu Lun Xie of China 6-2, 6-0, Piyush S Salekar saw off Theertha S Macherla 6-3, 6-4 and Ishan Sethi beat Pratyush Mohanty, also from India, 6-1, 6-1 to advanced to the boys’ singles quarter-finals. Likewise, China’s Pengyu Lu beat India’s Aditya Iyer 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, and Poland’s Michal Woznlak defeated Gunjan Jadhav of India 6-3, 6-0. In the girls’ singles event, India’s Shivani Swarup Ingle beat Na Dong of China 7-5, 6-3 and Vaidehi Chaudhari of India defeated country mate Yashaswini Panwar 6-2, 6-0. Also, China’s Jing Yang saw off Janvi Patel of India 6-0, 6-4, Yujiao Che defeated Malvika Shukla 6-3, 6-2 and Mingqiao Yang thrashed India’s Gauri Agarwal 6-0, 6-1. Japan’s Mio Kozaki recorded a 7-5, 6-0 win over Kiran Kalkal of India. In the boys’ doubles, Indian pair of Gunjan Jadhav and Atharva Sharma beat Chinese pair of Guanglin Wen and Yu Lun Zie 6-4, 6-1, while the pair of Mritunjay Badola and Dipin Wadhwa saw off Aditya Iyer and Piyush Surendra Salekar 6-3, 6-0 in All-India quarter-final match. In the girls’ doubles, the pair of Chunxi Guo (China) and Punnin Kovapitukted (Thailand) beat Indian pair of Bhakti Shah and Riya Uboveja 6-1, 6-3, Chinese duo Zongyu Li and Jing Yang saw off India’s Vaidehi Chaudhary and Shivani Swarup Ingle 6-4, 7-5, the pair of Na Dong and Mingalao Yang of China beat Ashprreet Kaur Bajwa (India) and Mio Kozaki (Japan) 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 and the pair of Anjali Mogili (USA) and Bhavya Ramieneni (India) outplayed Chinese pair of Yujiao Che and Jingyi Wang 6-3, 6-3.
