KATHMANDU: Police said two women were killed after being hit by a truck in front of the Ganga Hall in Balaju of Kathmandu, on Friday. A scooter (Ba 77 Pa 3208), which the duo were riding on, was hit by the truck (Na 5 Kha 8465) today, informed police. Police said the scooter rider 38-year-old Reena Kumari Rai from Manahari of Makawanpur district breathed her last on the way to a hospital. Likewise, seriously injured pillion rider 30-year-old Soniya Thapa of Dhading district succumbed to her injuries at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. The driver of the vehicle is on the run, added police. Meanwhile, police said they are investigating into the case.
