KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held final consultations with the office-bearers of Election Commission of Nepal on the elections in local bodies prior to the Cabinet meeting on Monday evening. The Cabinet is expected to announce the poll date today. Prime Minister Dahal had asked the Election Commission if the civic elections could be held on May 14 in one phase, according to a source at the Election Commission. In response, Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav told the Prime Minister that there were concerns regarding logistics and security, and if they could be addressed then the polls could be conducted in one phase on the proposed date, the source said. The Cabinet meeting was held twice earlier today -- once each in the morning and the afternoon. READ ALSO:
