Kathmandu, February 22 A 22-member baseball team, including 16 players, on Tuesday left for Pakistan to take part in the 13th West Asia Baseball Cup slated to be held from February 25 to March 1 in Islamabad. Skipper Ishwor Thapa, Anil Pariyar, Rajesh Basnet, Sukrim Thapa, Khadag Singh Bista, Milan Thapa, Prakash Bahadur Pujara, Mohammad Irshad Husen, Padam Singh Pujara, Jit Bahadur Tamang, Achit Karki, Binod Koirala, Dinesh Singh Bhandari, Man Kumar Mai, Bimal Lamichhane, Jeevan Nath and Subash Bohara are the players in the team. Team leader Pradeep Kumar Khatri, manager Deepak Neupane, coaches Ashok Bhattachan and Narayan Gharti as well as umpire Abhishek Karki also accompanied the players to Islamabad. India, Iran, Iraq and Sri Lanka along with Nepal and hosts Pakistan will take part in the tournament. Nepal have been pitted along with hosts Pakistan and Iraq in Group A, while Iran, Sri Lanka and India are in Group B.
