Pakistan offers scholarship to 200 Nepali students

KATHMANDU: The Government of Pakistan has provided the scholarships to 200 Nepali students ranging from Grade Nursery to Grade XII. Speaking at a programme organised to hand over the cheques in this connection today, Minister for Education Dhaniram Poudel praised the support of Pakistan government for the enhancement of education in Nepal. He added that both countries were enjoying friendly relations since long and the ties had further strengthened with the establishment of SAARC. Similarly, Pakistani Embassy's chargé d'affaires Jabed Umrani shared his pleasure, adding that they were planning to increase the quota of scholarship to Nepali students. The Government of Pakistan for last four years has been providing such scholarships in Nepal. A student is provided Rs 10,000 under the scholarship scheme. It may be noted that 150 students had benefitted from the same programme last year.
