KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has summoned the district chiefs of security bodies from Saptari in the wake of fatal clashes between the protesters and security personnel in the district. Those who have been called to Kathmandu are Chief District Officer Uddhav Prasad Timilsina, Nepal Police's SP Dibesh Lohani and Armed Police Force's SP Jaya Bahadur Khadka and Nepal Police's DSP Dan Bahadur Karki, according to a statement issued by the Home Minister's Secretariat. Earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi held a meeting with the chiefs of three security agencies -- Nepal Police, APF and National Investigation Department -- at his office and acquired information about yesterday's incident in Maleth near Rajbiraj of Saptari. He directed Nepal Police's Acting Inspector General Dinesh Chandra Pokhrel, Armed Police Force's Inspector General Singha Bahadur Shrestha, National Investigation Department's Chief Dilip Raj Regmi and other officials at the Home Ministry to work out to contain the situation without using maximum force.
