Dahal is likely to meet the Madhesi leaders tomorrow morning. Three protesters, who were among those trying to disrupt CPN-UML's function in Saptari, were killed in police firing yesterday. After that, the alliance of Madhesi parties -- United Democratic Madhesi Front -- announced a two-day strike in Tarai districts. Local UDMF leaders in Saptari said the strike in the district will continue for an indefinite time if their demands are not met. Their demands include judicial probe into the incident, action against security officials, provision of compensation to the bereaved families, treatment of the injured, and official recognition of the deceased as martyrs. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and DPM Bimalendra Nidhi, who looks after the Home Ministry, had said that the Cabinet will take appropriate decision over the issues related to the Saptari incident.
