Prez unveils Shashwat Dham

Nawalparasi, March 7 President Bidhya Devi Bhandari today said the construction of Shashwat Dham, a religious site in Nawalparasi, would play a vital role in promoting religious harmony and tourism in the country. Inaugurating the Dham constructed by Chaudhary Foundation at Dumkauli, Devchuli Municipality, in Nawalparasi today, President Bhandari said the site would become a milestone for socio-economic, aesthetic, tourism and religious development of the region. She also expressed confidence that the Dham will be a source of social harmony, kindness and peace across the globe. “The country’s prosperity is largely dependent on religious tolerance and fraternity among different communities, so we should protect our traditions amid peace and unity,” said President Bhandari. She further lauded the contribution of Chaudhary Group for the socio-economic and tourism development in the country. Saswatdham Founding Trustee and Chaudhary Group Chairperson Binod K Chaudhary offered President Bhandari a peace bell at the function. The president also inaugurated Amaleshwor Shiva Temple, Digital Religious Library and Religious Museum built on the Dham premises. Also speaking on the occasion, Indian religious leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar underscored the importance of Sanatan Dharma to spread the message of peace and harmony in Nepal. Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairperson Kamal Thapa, Land Reform Minister Bikram Pandey, Sri Lankan Minister Dayaa Gamagae and Managing Director of Chaudhary Foundation Nirvana Chaudhary, among others, were also present at the programme.
