UDMF cadres continue vandalism, target private properties in Saptari

RAJBIRAJ: Cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) continued vandalism in Saptari on the second day of an indefinite strike on Wednesday. They targeted private properties of high-profile individuals and CPN-UML leaders in the district after the news of death of Birendra Mahato, who was hit by bullet in police firing on Monday. A group of protesters vandalised CPN-UML's office in Rajbiraj-5 and set the party's signboard on fire. UDMF cadres hurled stones at UML lawmaker Ranju Thakur's rented room in Rajbiraj-9, UML's central member Suman Pyakurel's house in Rajbiraj-4, UML's district member Kamananda Dev's house in Rajbiraj-9. Kamananda Dev is a former member of National Planning Commission. Likewise, a group threw stones at Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav's house in Rajbiraj-9.
