KATHMANDU: The United Democratic Madhesi Front, has announced that the Madhesi parties affiliated with it were withdrawing their support to the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led coalition government. On March 8, the UDMF had served a seven-day ultimatum to the Prime Minister to meet their demands including revocation of decision to hold local level elections on May 14 and an amendment to the Constitution. The Madhesi parties have 49 lawmakers in the Parliament. With no positive response from the government and the major ruling parties -- Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre, the leaders of UDMF constituent parties held a meeting in Kathmandu today, on the last day of the ultimatum. Also, the meeting has decided to launch fresh agitation against the government in three phases. It has been learned that the UDMF will announce the agitation, which aims at disrupting the local elections, after a meeting scheduled for tomorrow. READ ALSO:
