Woman arrested for killing own brother-in-law in Baglung

BAGLUNG: Police in Baglung district today arrested a woman and a man from Painyupata in Baglung Municipality-13 for allegedly killing Binod Harijan, on Friday night. The arrestees have been identified as Rita Nepali and her accomplice Tek Bahadur Thapa. The investigation has revealed that Nepali killed her younger brother-in-law with the help of Thapa by strangling him to death, according to the District Police Office (DPO). Nepali and her younger brother-in-law reportedly had been in an illicit relationship since Nepali's husband was abroad in Malaysia for employment. Although the alleged duo tried to cover their crime by portraying the incident as a suicide, the investigation ascertained that it was a murder based on the circumstances, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Chandra Kuber Khapung at the DPO. The incident took place following a dispute between the woman and her brother-in-law, Nepali later confessed to the police. Meanwhile, police revealed that the suspect duo were also in the extramarital affair. The case against the arrested duo would be registered for the murder and legal action would be taken against the culprits, said SP Khapung.
