Man held with 7 kg smuggled gold from Rasuwagadhi border

KATHMANDU: Police in Rasuwa district on Thursday arrested a man in possession of seven kg supposedly smuggled gold from the Nepal-China border point of Rasuwagadhi. Inspector Dhruva Prasad Silwal at the District Police Office told THT Online over phone from Kathmandu that Prakash Gaire, a permanent resident of Waling in Syangja, currently residing in Laharepauwa-6 of Rasuwa district, was arrested. Gaire had hidden the precious yellow metal on his Scorpio (Ba 17 Cha 2275), according to Silwal. The vehicle was also seized by the border police at around 5:15 pm today. Further investigation is underway, police said.
