KATHMANDU: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) boycotted the Legislature-Parliament meeting on Sunday. The lawmakers of Madhes-based parties affiliated to the UDMF boycotted the House citing that their demand of Constitution amendment was not addressed. As soon as Speaker Onsari Gharti announced the commencement of the meeting, lawmakers associated with constituent parties of UDMF stood up from their respective seats as a gesture of their protest. Speaking in the meeting, Jangilal Yadav of Tarai Madhes Democratic Party blamed that government had induced the UDMF protest by announcing the local level elections without creating a conducive environment. Stating that local elections would not take place without the Constitution amendment, he demanded for the same through consensus and collaboration. With Yadav concluding his views, the lawmakers walked out of the session. READ ALSO:
