Guthi Sansthan staffer held with Rs 50,000 bribe

KATHMANDU: An Assistant Administrator of the Suryabinayak-based Guthi Sansthan branch office has been arrested while receiving Rs 50,000 bribe from a service recipient on Sunday. Chhatra Bahadur Paudel was arrested by a team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today. CIAA spokesperson Jeevraj Koirala said the anti-corruption constitutional body had received a tip-off that Paudel had demanded the kickback from a service recipient to transfer the land ownership. Further investigation is underway.
