Nepal get 258-run target against Bangladesh

KATHMANDU: The hosts Bangladesh set a 258-run target for Nepal in their second match of ACC Emerging Teams Cup cricket tournament underway in Bangladesh. Nepal won the toss and chose to field first. The Bangladeshi U-23 team made 257 runs in the stipulated 50 overs at the loss of nine wickets. Bangladeshi batsman Nasir Hussein made unbeaten 109 runs off 115 while Captain Mominul Haque scored 61 runs off 78. For Nepal, Avinash Karna took three wickets of the Bangladeshi team for 46 runs in eight overs. Likewise, Sandeep Lamichhane got two wickets for 41 runs whereas Mehboob Alam, Captain Gyanendra Malla and Dipendra Singh Airi took one wicket each. Nepal must win the match to remain in the tournament. Nepal were defeated by Pakistan U-23 by six wickets yesterday. Nepal will play against Hong Kong on Thursday.
