KATHMANDU: Nepal's National Football Team member Rohit Chand has signed a nine-month contract with his former Indonesian club Persija Jakarta. Financial details of the contract, however, have not been disclosed. Chand had played for the club for two-and-half years from 2012-1015, before being sidelined with knee injury. The contract will be effective from today to January 7, 2018, according to Rohit Chand's brother and agent Robin Chand. Persija Jakarta's Brazilian Coach Stefano Cugurra made the decision to sign Nepal's versatile player after he displayed an impressive performance against the Indonesian National U-22. Earlier, Chand had a successful stint with the Indonesian top-flight. After the long layoff, Chand is expected to ply his trade with his former club for the second time. Chand was an ANFA product, had a short stint with Machhindra Club in Nepal, played for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, in I-league in India before heading to Indonesia's Persija Jakarta. Versatile Chand can play a ball with both feet, started his career as a central defender, switched into deep-lying playmaker.
