KATHMANDU: The Cabinet meeting on Monday decided to withdraw the constitution amendment bill from the Parliament on Tuesday and register a new bill. Minister for Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Shankar Nayak told THT that the government would register a new constitution amendment bill in the House immediately after withdrawing the old bill. The government had earlier registered the amendment bill on 29 November 2016. The Cabinet has also formed a three-member committee under the coordination of Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa to study the demand to increase the number of local levels in Provinces 2 and 5.
