NSP-N pledges to increase per capita income to $2000 in five yrs

Kathmandu, May 1 The Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party-Nepal today unveiled its commitment paper for local polls committing to increase Nepalis’ per capita income to $ 2000 in five years. The party also seeks to achieve double digit economic growth at least for two decades and to reduce the percentage of below the poverty line population to 10 per cent. NSP-N commited to achieve the following objectives in five years
- Three lakh employment to be generated annually
- Food-nutrition security to be guaranteed
- Percentage of high school going children to be increased to 80 per cent
- Free health service to children below 15 years of age and elder citizens above 65 years of age
- All households to have access to drinking water and electricity
- Government to bring into operation two north and south economic corridors
