Nepal APF Club set Attariya Cup final date with Rising

Attariya, May 8 Nepal APF Club and Rising Cricket Women advanced to the final of the Ruslan Attariya Cup Women’s Cricket Tournament here today. APF thrashed Kailali District Cricket Academy by 82 runs, while Rising saw off Milan Cricket Academy by nine runs in their semi-final matches at the APF grounds. Opting to bat first, APF scored a mammoth total of 150-5 in their allotted 20 overs before packing Kailali for a paltry 68 runs with four balls to spare. Karuna Bhandari cracked six boundaries and a six in her 29-ball 42 and opener Jyoti Pandey contributed 40 off 44 balls hitting seven boundaries to guide APF to a big total. Binu Budha Magar scored a quick fire 21 off 15 balls with the help of three boundaries, while Mamata Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 15 off 13 balls that included two fours. Kabita Kunwar (3-23) was the pick of the Kailali bowlers, while Anjali Chand and Laxmi Saud took one wicket apiece. Suman Bist conceded 47 runs in her four-over spell. In reply, Nitu Bhandari was the lone Kailali batter to reach double figures scoring 17 off 22 balls with the help of a boundary. APF’s Binu Budha Magar bagged three wickets giving away just five runs in 1.2 overs, while Sarita Magar (2-13) and Sita Rana Magar (2-10) shared four wickets between them. Karuna Bhandari and Ritu Kanojiya took one wicket each. APF’s Binu Budha Magar was named the player-of-the-match and received Rs 3,000. In another match, Rising scored 119-3 riding on Pooja Nimavat’s 47 off 55 balls after they were invited to bat first. Shampa Mukharjee remained unbeaten on 35-ball 42. Nimavat hit three boundaries and Mukharjee cracked six fours. Saraswoti Chaudhary claimed two wickets and Anuradha Chaudhary took one wicket for Milan, who were packed for 110 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Rubina Chhetri scored 39 off 41 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six. Ritu Jain added 21 off 35 balls hitting two boundaries. Rising’s Pooja Nimavat, who fell three runs short of half century, returned to claim 4-22. Nery Thapa (3-14) and Arati Bidari (2-14) shared five wickets between them. Rising’s Nimavat was named the player-of-the-match and she got Rs 3,000. The final match between APF and Rising will be played on Tuesday. The winners and runners-up of the competition will get Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000 respectively, while the best player will take home Rs 25,000. Likewise, the best batter, bowler and wicketkeeper will receive Rs 10,000 apiece.
