Kathmandu, May 17 As vote counting continued on the third day today, CPN-UML mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates CP Gharti and Bhawana Bhandari respectively won the election at Bheri Municipality in Jajarkot. Gharti was elected for the post pushing back his closest rival NC’s Sanat Kumar Karki, while Bhandari won the election defeating CPN-MC’s Krishna Sharma. NC mayoral candidate Ramesh Kumar Pandey won the election at Madhya Nepal Municipality in Lamjung, while UML’s Raj Kumar Shrestha won the deputy mayoral post. Chhupi Maya Gurung of Nepali Congress was elected chief of Dudhpokhari Rural Municipality in Lamjung. She defeated her closest contestant CPN-MC’s Sati Maya Tamang. NC’s Kamal Prasad Dhital was elected deputy chief of the rural municipality. Likewise, NC’s Hari Kumar Shrestha won the election for the post of mayor at Beni Municipality of Myagdi, defeating the UML-RPP alliance candidate Pramod Shrestha. RPP candidate Sanju Baruwal won the deputy mayoral post at the municipality.  NC and CPN-MC had formed an alliance at the municipality. Of the four rural municipalities of Makawanpur, CPN-UML’s candidates won the election as chiefs in three municipalities, while CPN-MC’s candidate won the post in one municipality. UML’s Jeevan Lama and Uma Kumari Lama won the post of chief and deputy chief respectively at Indrasarovar Rural Municipality. They defeated NC’s Bishwo Lal Lama and Laxmi Dangol respectively. UML’s Tanka Bahadur Moktan and Suku Maya Thing won the election as chief and deputy chief of Kailash Rural Municipality in Makawanpur. UML’s Bidur Humagain and Harka Maya Rumba were elected chief and deputy chief respectively at Gadhi Rural Municipality in the district, while CPN-MC’s Sarkesh Ghalan won the post of chief at Bagmati Rural Municipality and UML’s Dhana Maya Thing won the deputy chief there. UML’s Kamal Nepal won the election as chief while Hemganga Moktan won the deputy chief respectively at Lisangkhupakhar Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk. NC’s Narayan Prasad Pandey and Ishwori Upreti were elected as chief and deputy chief of Tadi Rural Municipality in Nuwakot. Pandey defeated his closest rival UML’s Krishna Prasad Pandey. Surya Bahadur Shahi won chief while Tara Shahi won deputy chief at Chamunda Bindrasaini Rural Municipality. Similarly, UML’s Dhir Bahadur Shahi and Susmita Singh won the election as chief and deputy chief at Thatikandh Rural Municipality in the district. NC’s Bharat Sharma Gaire and Renuka Kaucha won the polls as mayor and deputy mayor at Galkot Municipality in Baglung. Similarly, Bal Krishna Acharya won the election as mayoral candidate from CPN-UML at Dhunibeshi Municiplaity in Dhading. He defeated his nearest rival CPN-MC’s Deepak Lamichhane. Prem Nath Silwal of UML won chief at Sidhalek Rural Municiplaity in the district. He defeated NC’s Badri Aryal. UML’s Kamala Sharma was elected as deputy chief of the rural municipality. Rana Bahadur Tamang and Bipana Waiba of NC won chief and deputy chief at Khaniyabas Rural Municipality in Dhading, while UML’s Ram Kumar Acharya was elected chief at Thakre Rural Municipality in the district. UML’s Dhan Bahadur Karki and CPN-MC’s Karsang Lama were elected as chief of Fikkal and Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality respectively in Sindhuli. Similarly, NC’s Prem Bahadur Timalsina and Sarita Lamichhane won the chief and deputy chief respectively at Bethanchowk Rural Municipality in Kavre. Salam Singh Lama and Durga Maya Tamang of NC won the chief and deputy chief at Timal Rural Municipality in the district. Likewise, NC candidates Hom Bahadur Rana Magar and Lalita Adhikari won chief and deputy chief at Gandaki Rural Municipality in Gorkha. Rana Magar defeated CPN-MC’s Deepak Timalsina. Tanka Jirel and Krishna Maya Budhathoki of CPN-UML were elected mayor and deputy mayor respectively at Jiri Municipality in Dolakha. Likewise, NC’s Chhabi Lama was elected chief of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality while CPN-MC’s Rabi Chandra Acharya was elected deputy chief of the municipality. Similarly, UML’s Khadga Bahadur Sunuwar and Sher Bahadur Sunuwar won chief at Gokulganga and Umakunda Rural Municipality respectively in Ramechhap. They defeated their closest rivals NC’s Nani Babu Basnet and Hikmat Sunuwar respectively while the UML’s Radhika Shrestha and NC’s Urmila Karki Basnet won the deputy chief at Gokulganga and Umakunda Rural Municipalities respectively. NC’s Gir Bahadur Thapa and Pushpa Devi Shrestha were elected chief and deputy chief of Aanbukhaireni Municipality respectively in Tanahun. Thapa defeated his closest rival UML’s Santa Bahadur KC. Rana Bahadur Rana and Saraswoti Sigdel of UML were elected chief and deputy chief of Ghiring Rural Municipality respectively in the district. Likewise, NC’s Santosh KC and Sita KC were elected chief and deputy chief at Chhatreshwori Rural Municipality respectively in Salyan. Meanwhile, CPN-UML candidates were elected chief in three rural municipalities while NC won one in Kaski. UML won the post of chief at Rupa, Machhapuchchhre and Madi rural municipalities while NC won the post of chief at Annapurna Rural Municipality in the district. Bed Bahadur Gurung and Bishnu Maya Acharya won the chief and deputy chief at Madi Rural Municipality while Karna Bahadur Gurung and Krishna Kumari Poudel of the party won chief and deputy chief at Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality. Similarly, UML’s Navaraj Ojha and Lal Subba Gurung were elected chief and deputy chief of Rupa Rural Municipality in Kaski. Ojha defeated his closest rival NC’s Prakash Mohan Khanal. In addition, NC’s Yubaraj Kunwar and UML’s Sagun Gurung were elected chief and deputy chief at Annapurna Rural Municipality in Kaski.
