Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolis awaits EC's decision to resume vote count

POKHARA: The vote count of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolis would resume after the Election Commission's decision, said chief election commission officer. The vote counting was halted after a dispute over the finding of two different types of swastika symbol stamps in ballot papers of May 14 local level elections. The vote count has been halted since yesterday. According to Chief Election Officer Nagendra Lal Karna a letter has been sent to the Election Commission in Kathmandu after the all party meeting failed to yield dividend in the matter. It has been learned that there were two different signatures of election officers in same ballot papers. Furthermore, the swastika symbols were also found to be of different colors of various size, while counting the votes of ward number 17 in the Metropolis.
