Kathmandu, May 24 The Parliament failed to conduct pre-budget discussion today as well, as the main opposition threatened to obstruct House proceedings unless the government withdrew its decision to add 22 local levels in the Tarai districts. The Parliament was adjourned till tomorrow afternoon, as top leaders of the three major parties failed to forge consensus on the main opposition’s stand. According to sources in the Parliament, the parties failed to forge consensus. The meeting between the top three parties concluded inconclusively, as CPN-UML’s leaders led by Madhav Kumar Nepal refused to let the House run. Later Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar adjourned the Parliament till 4:00pm tomorrow. CPN-UML Chief Whip Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal said the opposition would let the government make its policy and programmes public in tomorrow’s House meeting.
