Biratnagar, May 25 As the second phase of local level election is just around the corner, women in Morang district are eager to give good leadership to society with their candidacy for the upcoming civic polls. A Dalit Woman Krishna Kumari Bishwokarma from Nepali Congress is preparing for her candidacy as ward member of Sundar Harincha Rural Municipality. “I will work for the backward women if I win the election,” she said. Similarly, Sakuntala Devi Sutihar (Sardar) is also preparing to give her candidacy for ward member at Budhiganga Rural Municipality from Nepal Democratic Forum. “Women are ready to take up political responsibility and it is today’s need,” she added. Sardar said that she would work for Dalit and backward women. Ranju Barma has also been preparing to give her candidacy as vice-chair of Hathari Rural Municipality from Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal. “I was involved in politics to change society’s perception towards women,” she added. Barma said that she wants to be in the fray to offer social responsibility to women. Aruna Thapa Magar is all set to give her candidacy as the ward chair of Budhiganga Rural Municipality from the CPN-UML. She said that women could not move ahead though they were capable due to male superiority in society. “Females are equally capable in each sector as males is the main message of my candidacy,” she informed. Similarly, Bindi Mishra said she was preparing to give her candidacy for the vice-chair in Katahari Rural Municipality from the CPN-MC. “I will try to end social discrimination if elected,” she added. The vice-chair candidate Rajwati Meheta from UML in Jadaha Rural Municipality said women have to reach leadership level to make women responsible.
