11 women candidates elected to deputy mayoral, vice-chair’s posts in Dhading

Dhading, May 26 As many as 11 female candidates have been elected to the posts of deputy mayor and vice-chair in one municipality and 10 rural municipalities in the first phase of civic polls in Dhading. Seven female candidates from the CPN-UML, two from the Nepali Congress and one each from CPN-Maoist Centre and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have been elected to various posts. CPN-UML candidate Niru Kharel has been elected the deputy mayor of Dhunibeshi Municipality, while UML’s Januka Khadka won the post of vice-chair of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality. Similarly, CPN-UML’s Ambika Rupakheti has been elected vice-chair of Thakre Municipality, Radha Timilsina as vice-chair of Galchhi Rural Municipality, Sita Dhungana as vice-chair of Gajuri Rural Municipality and Kamala Sharma as the vice-chair of Siddlekh Rural Municipality. CPN-Maoist Centre candidate Urmila Tamang has been elected as the vice-chair of Netrawati Rural Municipality, while NC’s Yogmaya Tamang won the post of vice-chair post in Khaniyabash Rural Municipality. RPP’s Bina Lama defeated CPN-Maoist’s Amrita Tamang at Ruwivalley Rural Municipality to win the post of vice-chair. NC’s Devi Pandey has won the vice-chair post at Tripurasundari Rural Municipality defeating UML candidate Krishna Kumari Thapa and UML’s Angila Tamang has been elected as the vice-chair of Gangajamuna Rural Municipality.
