NWPP not to join new government

Bhaktapur, May 26 Nepal Workers and Peasants Party Chairman Narayanman Bijukchhe said formation of a new government just ahead of the second-phase of local level elections would be a violation of the election code of conduct. Addressing a programme organised by Bhaktapur-based Iwamura Memorial Hospital in honour of the newly elected local representatives in the Bhaktapur Municipality, Bijukchhe accused the government of bringing policy and programmes for the upcoming fiscal by violating the election code of conduct. Thje NWPP chair made it clear that his party would not join a new government, but speak for the rights of the people by staying in the opposition. Also speaking on the occasion, newly-elected mayor of Bhaktapur Municipality Sunil Prajapati vowed to develop the town into an educational and health care hub. Deputy Mayor Rajani Joshi and elected chairs of 10 wards in the municipality pledged that they would work collectively to make the town prosperous. READ ALSO:
