KATHMANDU: Nepali players won 19 medals, including eight golds, in the International Taekwondo Championship held in Bhutan. Sangita Bashyal (68kg), Sumitra Khatri (76kg), Pushpa Prasad Gautam (45kg) and Sudeep Nepali (28kg) won gold medals in Kyorugi, while Rejin Rimal (below-39 year) and Nita Gurung (U-29) got gold in the poomsae. Asmita Khadka and Sanjib Ojha won gold in the doubles category. Similarly, Nepali taekwondo players won six medals in the Macau Open International Taekwondo Championship.Sharmula Babu Miya bagged gold in U-49kg, while Nischal Basnet, Paras Bhandari, Bishal Gole, Pradeep Kandel and coach-cum-player Bablu Siwakoti won silver medals.
