Lalitpur, May 30 Anubhav Subba bagged three gold medals on the opening day of the eighth Pramod Memorial Cup Open and Age Group Swimming Competition here at the International Sports Complex pool today. Subba claimed first gold in the 200m individual medley by clocking two minutes and 40 seconds, finishing ahead of Nassir Hussain (2:58.65) and Hridayendra Shah (3:46.59). Subba added another in the 100m butterfly completing the distance in one minute and 7.68 seconds. Ugyen Sherpa (1:12.35) and Nassir Hussain (1:20.13) came second and third respectively. Subba then won the 50m backstroke gold with a timing of 33.15 seconds, while Alexander Shah came second in 34.37 seconds and Jarrah Budd finished third in 34.55 seconds. Similarly, Shuvam Shrestha clocked one minute and 13 seconds to win the 100m breaststroke gold finishing ahead of Kiran Karki (1:18.32) and Bedagya Raj Joshi (1:29.47). Devesh Manadhar came first in the 50m freestyle in 27.25 seconds, while Anubhav Subba was second with a timing of 27.28 seconds and Shuvan Shrestha took 27.50 seconds to finish third. In the women’s category, Sofia Shah won the 200m freestyle gold medal in 28.47 seconds, while Tisa Shakya (2:30.63) and Duana Lama (2:37.85) came second and third respectively. Shah won her second gold of the day when she won the 50m freestyle with the timing of 29.91 seconds, while Tisa Shakya (30.99) and Shreetika Singh (31.87) claimed silver and bronze medals respectively. Oshina Bharati also claimed two gold medals on the opening day. She clocked one minute and 20.44 seconds in the 100m butterfly, while Duan Lama (1:20.78) and Shreetika Singh (1: 21.63) bagged silver and bronze respectively. Bharati claimed another gold medal in the 50m backstroke. She took 37.88 seconds to complete the distance, while Shreetika Singh (37.97) and Sofia Shah (38.12) bagged silver and bronze medals respectively. After finishing runner-up in two events, Tisa Shakya claimed gold medal in the 100m breaststroke by completing the distance in one minute and 29.75 seconds. Duan Lama (1:32.71) and Sofia Shah (1:34.62) won silver and bronze medals respectively.
