Kathmandu, May 31 A book titled ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in Nepal: Policy Status, Challenges and Opportunities’ was launched along with ‘The Indigenous World 2017 ‘, an annual report of the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs amidst a programme here today. The book, published by Lawyers’ Association for Human Rights of Nepali Indigenous People, is a compilation of articles written on various themes such as the situation of women in Nepal and efforts made for the improvement of their living standards, government policies and international provisions regarding indigenous women and children, legal framework on the rights of indigenous people in Nepal, among other things. Minister for Land Reform and Management, Gopal Dahit said the government had internalised the need for guaranteeing rights of indigenous people to land, water and natural resources.
