KATHMANDU: 'Clean City' campaign has been launched in the Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Thursday. The newly elected KMC Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya and Deputy Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi jointly inaugurated the campaign amid a function in Bansbari today. The campaign has been launched with determination for making Kathmandu clean, not only to show off, said Mayor Shakya. KMC needs residents' support not only for making city clean, but also in all other programmes carried out by it, said Deputy Mayor Khadgi. Locals, representatives of various social organisations, KMC staff among others  participated in the function. Both the mayor and deputy mayor took the oath of office and secrecy yesterday.
