RPP to scrap membership of cadres contesting against official candidates

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to scrap the general membership of its cadres who are independently contesting the local level polls on June 28. Informing that RPP has chosen candidates on merit basis, the party leader Rajaram Shrestha said that a policy has been formed to take action against its members, who are contesting the elections against the party's official candidates. The policy has been adopted to discourage it's members those who are contesting with a sole aim to defeat the official candidates. RPP has instructed its sister organisations to coordinate with Local Municipal and Ward Level Election Committee during the electioneering for polls going to be held in 334 local levels in Provinces 1, 5 and 7. As RPP fell short of expectations in the first phase of local elections, this time the party has intensified publicity campaigns and political activities, shared the RPP Spokesperson Bhuwan Pathak. He further informed that the party has fielded nominations of its candidates in around 300 local levels. READ ALSO:
