KATHMANDU: The voter turnout until 4:30pm on Wednesday, the polling day, was 62 per cent, according to the latest figure provided by the Joint Election Operation Centre at the Election Commission. Though the polls are scheduled to conclude at 5:00 pm,  the Election Commission has stated that voters already in a queue at polling  centres could cast their votes beyond the allocated time. So the exact number of voter turn out is yet to be determined. During the first round of local polls held in Province 3, 4 and 6 on May 14, voter turn out was 71 per cent. Voters today will elect 15,038 representatives at 334 local units in 35 districts of Province 1, 5 and 7. However, 41 candidates have already been elected unopposed.
