KATHMANDU: A total of 73.69 per cent voters have cast their votes in the second phase of local level elections held in 35 districts of Province 1, 5 and 7 on Wednesday, June 28. As many as 72.49 per cent voters had taken part in Province 1; 75.34 per cent in Province 5 and 73.04 per cent in Province 7 in the second phase of civic polls, according to a press statement issued by the Election Commission today. Meanwhile, of the total 334 local levels, the counting of votes has started in 168 of them. Out of 137 local levels in Province 1 and 109 local levels in Province 5, the vote counting is underway in 108 and 34 local levels respectively. Likewise, the counting of votes has begun in 26 local levels of Province 7. The Province has a total of 88 local levels. The second round of civic polls was held in 334 local levels including one metropolitan city, seven sub-metropolitan cities, 111 municipalities and 215 rural municipalities of 35 districts in Province 1, 5 and 7.
