NC's Ale elected to mayor, UML's Rai to deputy in Bhojpur Municipality

BHOJPUR: Nepali Congress candidate Kailash Kumar Ale has been elected mayor of the Bhojpur Municipality in Bhojpur district. NC's Ale, who garnered 4,070 votes, defeated CPN-UML's Ganesh Shrestha, who had received 4,034 votes. Meanwhile, UML candidate Mamita Rai defeated Kriti Kumari Karki of NC in the deputy mayoral race. Rai mustered 3,773 votes while Karki received 3,071 votes. Among 12 wards in the municipality, the NC achieved victory in 6 wards, CPN-UML in 5 wards and CPN-Maoist Centre in a ward.
