KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in smuggling demonetised Indian banknotes with face value of INR 4.95 million recently. Acting on a tip-off, a sleuth from CIB apprehended 37-year-old Man Bahadur Lama of Ramechapp district and 30-year-old Amit Dongol of Swyambhu, KMC-15, red-handed while making a deal at a hotel in Khusibu, KMC-17 yesterday. In a statement today, CIB said, police seized demonetised Indian bank notes with face value of INR 49, 50,000, a motorcycle, Samsung mobile set and a bag. CIB had seized 3700 notes of INR 500 denomination and 3100 notes of INR 1,000 denomination. Meanwhile, the duo have been sent to the Hariharbhawan-based Revenue Investigation Department for further investigation and action today itself, it said in a statement.
