Pokhara, January 11:

The four student unions here have urged the public schools in Pokhara and Lekhnath municipalities not to set up polling booths on school premises for the upcoming polls.

Nepal Students’ Union (NSU), All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU), All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (Unified) and Nepal Students’ Union (Democratic) made the appeal to the schools at a press meet in Pokhara.

The student bodies urged the principals of the public schools in 18 wards of Pokhara and 15 wards in Lekhnath municipality not to give the government nod to set up polling booths in the schools.

The student bodies warned the schools that they would themselves be held responsible for any physical damage during the poll disruption programmes if the poll booths are set up in the schools.
