Tipper plunges into Trishuli River in Dhading, disappears

MALEKHU, DHADING: A tipper has gone missing after it fell into the Trishuli River near Bihani Petrol Pump in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 along the Prithvi Highway in the wee hours of Thursday.
The tipper (Ba 4 Kha 5146) heading towards Gajuri from Phisphise of Siddhalek Rural Municipality plunged 40 metres into the river and disappeared at around 3:00 am today, according to the Area Police Office, Gajuri. The incident took place while the heavy four-wheeler was heading to take loads of sand.
Although the details of the incident are yet to be ascertained, police have presumed that there were two others aboard the truck along with the driver Kale Damai of Siddhalek Rural Municipality.
Meanwhile, police and locals have intensified the search for the driver and the vehicle.
The increased water level in the river has made it difficult to carry out the search operation, said police.
